Tal-Ko has a long history within the karting
world and numerous UK and International
championship titles
to its credit.
Originally started in 1958 by Bernie Turney,
the company has a fine reputation as an importer
of quality karts
and engines as well as being the leading UK manufacturer
of engines.
Over
the years literally thousands of drivers have relied
and won on TKM equipment including famous F1 names
such as David Coulthard, Jenson Button, and Ralph
Firman. Up and coming future stars like Anthony Davidson
and Robbie Kerr have more recently graduated from
the Formula TKM classes. Since the death of his father
in 1982 the company has been run by Alan Turney,
himself a former top British kart racer and once
team-mate to Nigel Mansell in the UK squad. Alan
is an engine expert whose skills have fine tuned
engines winning world championship and British Grand
Prix titles.
