LIVE STREAMING FOR BRITISH TKM CHAMPIONSHIPS

Live streaming coverage will be featured at every round of the 2020 TKM British Kart Championships giving the racing immediate world-wide display.

Motorsport UK made the decision to switch from recorded coverage to live as a direct response to requests from drivers in the survey at the end of last year which showed a preference for the live streaming system.

Alpha Live have been contracted to carry out the organisation and operation of the coverage which will take place finals day with preliminary introductions and interviews before coverage of the actual finals takes place. Presentations will also be covered.

Says Motorsport UK Karting Manager Dan Parker: “The indication from drivers showed a trend towards this so we have taken the decision to try this new route. Once more it underlines our desire to meet wherever we can the preference of our competitors.”

James Fitchew, Director at Alpha Live added: “We aim to present a very professional coverage not just of the races but with a range of interviews and features. We want to push forwards the coverage of kart racing in the UK.”

The live streaming is one of many new features to the TKM British Championships this year which includes greater control on tyres with parc ferme and bagging of new and used wet tyres, new control fuel, updated scrutineering and revised points scoring system.

Adds TKM boss Alan Turney: “We will be interested to see how this change of coverage from what has been the usual to a new type will work. Our aim as always is to listen to our drivers and everything changing this year in the British Championships is driver driven.”

The first round of the TKM British Championship is at Fulbeck in April with a warm up event there for TKM and Honda drivers at the TKM Spring Cup at the end of March.
