Tal-Ko Racing have teamed up with Synergy to expand into a new class for Cadets wanting to move up into the more powerful inter/mini kart class for 2023.

The all-new model Synergy Envy 950mm wheelbase kart has been developed for all of the MSUK new ‘Inter’ classes. This new Synergy kart has been chosen by Tal-Ko Racing as their preferred choice of kart and will be promoted and used/sold by Tal-Ko Racing instead of its own multi winning championship Veloce manufactured kart used in Junior & Senior TKM.

The new model Synergy kart with TKM TAG inter engine will be at this weekend’s TKM Festival at Kimbolton displayed at the Tal-Ko Racing support van. Testing will start shortly to fine tune the combination ready for the start of racing in January 2023.

Power comes from the existing 100cc TKM engine used in the Formula TKM Junior class. The engine will be a touch and go start version with clutch. It uses inlet and exhaust restrictors to provide the correct lap times for this new class. The inter TKM class will use Maxxis / TKM Cadet sizes tyres in both Dry & Wet options.

By using the TKM 100cc TAG motor for both the new inter TKM class and existing TKM Junior class, it will simply be a quick change or removal of restrictors to allow the engine to move up into TKM Juniors when the driver reaches correct age when, of course, a full-size chassis will also be required. Inter age eligibility - From 10th birthday, or the calendar year of their 10th birthday with a national licence and continue until the 31st of December of the year of 13th birthday.

The TKM Inter class can of course use any 950mm wheelbase kart homologated but Tal-Ko Racing have teamed up with Synergy karts instead of producing their own brand kart. The Synergy kart brand is one of the market leaders and has become the kart to use in Cadet and will continue that same success into the new Inter classes.

Says TKM boss Alan Turney: “We have little experience in Cadet, so we looked to team up with the best and found Synergy who were winning races and just down the road from us.

And says Synergy / Fusion boss Dan Hazlewood: “It is a perfect match in so many ways. We look forward to working with Alan to get the kart up to peak performance for next year. It is an exciting development working with TKM and Tal-Ko.”

Finalisation of the full spec will come shortly, and the engine and kart packages will be available to buy from October 1. High demand is expected.
