Wera Tools British Kart Championships unveil 2023 TKM Calendar

The Motorsport UK Wera Tools British Kart Championships have revealed the 2023 calendar and line-up for the popular TKM classes, with a new look to the racing roster.

The TKM Junior and TKM Extreme contenders will be joined in 2023 by the new TKM Inter class which will battle it out over five intense weekends of racing.  Thanks to feedback received from championship competitors and TKM Customers, all TKM classes will enjoy an expanded season and new format next season, including a PreFinal and extra Practice on Fridays at away rounds or where racing is limited for the category.

Once again, strict control on tyre usage will be in place on all events with no new covers permitted for practice sessionsfrom round two onwards.

The popular PFi circuit near Grantham kicks off the season in April before a trip to the stunning GYG circuit in Wales. Shenington takes contenders to the classic TKM track near Banbury in July whilst Whilton Mill hosts the penultimate Event in September. The finale’ will be played out at the challenging Rowrah circuit in mid-September.

The 2023 season will see further enhancements to the on-track CCTV system, a new on-event app and further improvements in the race centre to ensure that the Championship continues to offer high-level, fair, competitive racing for all.

In addition to the improvements in technology, it will also continue with control fuel from series partners Vital Equipment, coupled with onsite fuel testing taking place each weekend.

We are also delighted to confirm that award-winning broadcasters Alpha Live will once again be providing comprehensive live streaming of each event. In conjunction with the series' social media coverage, the British Kart Championships was taken to every corner of the globe, with an audience totalling nearly 6 million in 2022.

Motorsport UK Karting Manager Dan Parker commented, “The TKM classes continue to provide some of the closest and most competitive racing in the BKC and the addition of the new TKM Inter class will only enhance the racing further.”

“We have listened to the feedback from the TKM community and also the comments from competitors in the 2022 championship regarding the format and practice sessions and have made the relevant adjustments to the 2023 BKC offering where possible.”

“We very much look forward to visiting some new venues with the TKM Championship during the season ahead whilst also returning to firm favourites over the course of the year.“

More information on the registration process will be issued in the coming weeks.
