TRIPLE BOOST FOR MAXXIS TKM FESTIVAL

And Hondas get an invite too!

The Maxxis TKM Festival at Kimbolton, recognized as one of the most prestigious events in the UK karting calendar, will have an extra boost for TKM drivers this year – as well as those racing in Honda Cadets.

TKM drivers, including novices, will get the chance to race in the traditional Festival / Elite races whilst also getting points for those registered in the three TKM Club Championships. Those with full licences will also be able to compete in separate races for the coveted ABkC TKM ‘O’ plate titles.

The Festival has a new innovation for 2015 with the inclusion of one grid of Honda Cadet Karts competing for a special Festival trophy. A move made because of the large amount of interest shown in the TKM classes by Honda drivers and their parents.

TKM Alan Turney boss Alan Turney explained: “We are delighted to be able to include all these additional bonuses to the event. It really gives something extra for everyone”

“We are pleased to include the Honda Cadets because we have seen great interest from this class as the youngsters move up and it is a natural step from Honda to TKM in terms of the attraction of the class.”

Hunts Kart Club have organised the event so it will be possible for TKM drivers to race just for the ‘O’ plate, or to also race separately in the Festival races. All it will require is an extra entry and set of tyres. So let’s be clear you can enter just the Festival or just the O Plate or you can enter both with separate entries.

Adds Alan: “We know there will be a number of drivers wanting to get the most out of the weekend by racing in both. It offers incredible value for money. And if anyone manages to pull off the double of a win in both then there will be an additional special prize!”

The event takes place at Kimbolton, the home of Hunts Kart Racing Club, over the weekend of August 7-9 with Friday testing and then racing all weekend. The event is covered by Motors TV who will be recording items on the events of the weekend including the Honda Cadets.

Hunts Kart Club Chairman Martin Chesterman said: “The Maxxis TKM Festival has a wonderful spirit and energy with many drivers and their families telling us how much they enjoy the event. We do our best with an opportunity for the competitors and families to catch up on Saturday evening providing food and music at our site catering arena, adding to the feeling of a family weekend.

“We are excited at the additions for this year’s Festival weekend and believe the Honda crews will thoroughly enjoy the occasion, and enjoy a very special and long running event in British karting.”
