Tal-Ko is confident of completing its TKM Club Championship with a double-header event at Whilton Mill, despite some current uncertainty at the circuit caused by a re-organisation of its operations.
The four event championship, which has races at Kimbolton, Shenington, Rissington and Whilton Mill, got off to a flying start last year with more than 70 registered drivers across the Junior and Senior classes.
This year’s series is based at the same circuits within the Midlands area but with the last round at Whilton Mill in September running as a double header adding a final sting in the tail to the trend-setting regional championship.
Over the past few weeks a number of changes have been announced at the circuit thanks to a multi-thousand pound investment from the owners, which will improve the track itself and increase facilities. This includes changes to the existing club set up.
Short term this has caused some hiccups in event organisation but says TKM series co-ordinator Grahame Butterworth: “We see this as nothing more than a storm in a crash helmet and we are confident that by one route or another, our final round will be able to take place as planned.
“We have been very encouraged by the positive response from the track owners to solve some existing things at the circuit which we found concerned our drivers – like the barrier at the last corner and the bumps.
“More than that we have agreement with the circuit owners on some ideas which will provide a boost to all TKM drivers in the area. As a company we were the first to test at the track when it was built and we are pleased to continue our association.”
Registration for the series closes on March 15. More information and registration sheets etc available from or for queries email
