FORMULA TKM REGULATION
PROPOSALS FOR 2010
Tal-Ko Racing, organisers of the mega successful Formula TKM
karting classes, have issued draft suggestions for changes to
the classes from 2010 aimed at keeping down costs and opening
the classes to more drivers.
The draft proposals have been drawn up following a public
request for feedback from drivers via their newly created TKM
Drivers Club.
The most significant proposal is within the 2-stroke classes,
where the need to have karts specially homologated is dropped
but with strict regulations that require all karts to meet the
same specification with no caster/camber adjustment, no torsion
bars, but still making use of 30mm rear axles.
This move will open up the class to a greater number of
second-hand karts on sale at very realistic prices and simplify
regulations for manufacturers.
Other suggestions include weight/carb restrictor changes to
allow an even greater spread of Junior drivers to be competitive
without the need to carry excess amounts of lead.
Tal-Ko boss Alan Turney stresses: “We underline the fact that at
the moment these are draft proposals. We have always aimed to
provide drivers with the most amount of racing for their money
and by what we are proposing here we are keeping the key
elements of the class while opening it up to potentially more
people. We look forward to the response.”
Full details of the proposals can be seen at the
dedicated TKM club page and
