FORMULA TKM OPEN UNIQUE
NEW DRIVER CLUB
REGISTER OF IDEAS
Formula TKM drivers are being given a
unique new way to help guide the direction of their classes in
both 2-stroke and 4-stroke categories with the opening of a
special new TKM Drivers Club register.
Tal-Ko Racing, organisers of the classes, the 2-stroke one of
which has been a mainstay of UK karting over 20 years, have
created the new idea to help give their drivers maximum say in
the direction the classes take in future years particularly on
technical matters.
Launching the idea, Tal-Ko Managing Director Alan Turney said:
“We have always listened very carefully to what our drivers have
said and we very much take note of that when taking decisions.
What we are doing now is opening up a simple direct channel of
communication which we hope drivers will use to pass on
constructive thoughts.
“Of course we cannot always please everyone but we will do our
absolute best to keep things moving in a direction which appears
in keeping with the majority of thoughts.”
Tal-Ko have set up a special email address –
ideas@tkmdriversclub.com – where drivers are asked to send
their thoughts.
Current topics being considered for next year include:
- On 2-stroke, changing the chassis homologation to a
simpler cheaper method of registration, or even doing away
with it completely and just setting clear rules on what is
and is not allowed.
- Again 2-stroke, consideration on the use of larger size
axles and or maybe caster/camber adjustment.
- Possible small increase in weight limit for senior
2-stroke class only.
- Review of weights in the Junior and Senior 4-stroke
classes
Adds Alan Turney: “Every email will be
looked at and considered. We cannot promise to send a full reply
to everyone but rest assured your thoughts will be taken into
account.”
Ideas and suggestions for the TKM classes should be emailed to:
ideas@tkmdriversclub.com.
