REGULATIONS PUBLISHED FOR WHILTON MILL
MAXXIS FORMULA TKM FESTIVAL
Regulations are now available for the Maxxis
Formula TKM Festival, the UK's largest single make karting
event, being held for the first time this year at Whilton Mill.
The event, which takes place over the weekend of August 8 - 10,
features racing for all of the Formula TKM 2 and 4 stroke
classes. It also includes special categories for veterans and
heavies within the Senior Extreme class. Novices can compete too
and all classes feature timed qualifying, three heats, followed
by a pre-final and final.
The change of venue from Kimbolton to Whilton Mill has been
instigated by planning problems which cuts out the availability
of Friday testing. The Hunts Kart Club are hoping to resolve the
problem.
Whilton Mill have welcomed the opportunity to house this now
long established event in the karting calendar. It fits well
with the circuit's ambitions to house major events which has
been made possible by its recent extension to the circuit.
The Festival will again do its best to give competitors and
their families a really enjoyable weekend. Features include a
special Saturday night Bar-B-Q within the grounds of the circuit
and the chance for everyone to get involved in some
light-hearted games. There will also be a draw for £1000 worth
of TKM vouchers open to all drivers before the racing even
starts. Once again the event is sponsored by Maxxis Tyres,
exclusive suppliers of tyres to the Formula TKM classes.
Extensive TV coverage has also been negotiated for the Festival
with the availability of post event DVDs. Overseas drivers are
also expected to take part in the 4-stroke races.
Regulations are being mailed or e-mailed out to competitors in
last year's event. They are also available as a
download here
(PDF format) or by sending a stamped addressed A5 envelope to
Rita Chapman, 23 Foxglove Close, Castle Meadow, Buckingham
MK18 1FU.
Says Formula TKM boss Alan Turney: "We are pleased with the warm
and positive response from Whilton Mill and look forward to the
fresh new look it will give the event.
"The club has already built very strong TKM grids and coupled
with its good location, high reputation and warm atmosphere
should make for an excellent event.
